Color Line is Norway’s largest and one of Europe’s leading cruise and transport shipping companies. Color Line operate in the fields of passenger and goods transport, conference arrangement, hotel management, restaurants, retailing, entertainment, and organized tour production, including package and group tours to both summer and winter destinations. Color Line operates a total of five ships on four international routes, connecting seven ports in Norway, Germany, Denmark, and Sweden.

Color Line’s ships operate on the following routes with daily departures:

• Hirtshals – Larvik
• Hirtshals – Kristiansand
• Sandefjord – Strömstad (Sweden)
• Oslo – Kiel

Sea transport is a high priority in the efforts to achieve national and international climate goals. Color Line’s environmental strategy shapes the company’s initiatives. The company has adopted the Norwegian Shipowners’ Association’s vision of zero emissions of harmful substances into the air or water. This commits the company to contributing to the development of an eco-friendly maritime sector.

Color Line’s vision is to lead in introducing new, climate-friendly technology onboard its ships and in the ports they call at. For example, Color Line now has shore power systems in all four Norwegian ports used for scheduled services, as well as in Kiel, Germany.

In June 2019, Color Line launched the world’s largest plug-in hybrid ship on the route between Sandefjord and Strömstad.
